King Solomon and Odin (cont.)

Odin is credited with 'discovering' The Runes during a period of self-sacrifice and suspension between the realms of Midgard and Asgard. King Solomon being the incarnation of Odin himself explains the direct correlation between Ecclesiastes 3 and The Runes logically.

Further evidence which supports that King Solomon was Odin incarnate can be found in the biblical scripture I Kings (11:4-13) where Solomon practices his Pagan/Heathen beliefs. Notice that the scripture (below) begins with "When Solomon was old..." which is when he wrote Ecclesiastes 3 and described the "scattering and gathering" of runes:

***

I Kings, 11:4-13

When Solomon was old his wives had turned his heart to strange gods, and his heart was not entirely with the LORD, his God, as the heart of his father David had been. By adoring Astarte, the goddess of the Sidonians, and Milcom, the idol of the Ammonites, Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD; he did not follow him unreservedly as his father David had done.

Solomon then built a high place to Chemosh, the idol of Moab, and to Molech, the idol of the Ammonites, on the hill opposite Jerusalem. He did the same for all his foreign wives who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods. The LORD, therefore, became angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice (for though the LORD had forbidden him this very act of following strange gods, Solomon had not obeyed him).

So the LORD said to Solomon: “Since this is what you want, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes which I enjoined on you, I will deprive you of the kingdom and give it to your servant. I will not do this during your lifetime, however, for the sake of your father David; it is your son whom I will deprive. Nor will I take away the whole kingdom. I will leave your son one tribe for the sake of my servant David and of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.”

***

It is important to mention here that Odin's son Heimdal, as Jesus Christ, was considered a "heretic" by the sole remaining tribe of David in Israel (the Jews). Christ/Heimdal was crucified for his 'Odinic' beliefs which contrasted greatly with the lone tribe which now followed the One god who had rebuked Solomon/Odin in the above Old Testament passage. The 'miracles' and 'magic' performed by Christ/Heimdal were considered "blasphemy" to the followers of a more strict, rigid and conservative god of Judaic origin. Sadly enough, Solomon/Odin desparately tried to connect with his 'kin', his descendents, through his son Christ/Heimdal... but the god of Israel and his mandates would have no part in it. And to make things even worse, the Christians are dazed and confused somewhere in-between!

It is easy to see why the Pagan/Heathen community maintains such an ambiguous relationship with the Judeo-Christians to this very day. To put it bluntly, the god of the Jews is clearly NOT the same god as the Pagan/Heathen god(s). And the Christians are actually following the doctrine of Pagan/Heathen beliefs (Odin/Heimdal) while paying homage to the Northern gods of Yggdrasil that they reverently refer to as "Saints".

It is widely acknowledged that modern-day Christian holidays are of undisputed Pagan/Heathen origin (Easter, Halloween, Christmas) which supports a most logical, harmonious compromise. The irony here is that the original Pagan/Heathen festivals are not 'materialistic' at all; while the Christian adaptation of these holidays focus primarly on boosting Retail sales worldwide.

Jesus Christ and Heimdal (cont.)

It was recently brought to my attention that there are people in Northern Europe (Germany for example) who wear T-shirts that say, "Odin not Christ". This actually makes sense to me since Odin, like Christ, is also known for sacrificing himself (to himself) on the Tree of Yggdrasil for 9 days, with a spear in his side, in order to acquire The Runes. Odin also sacrificed one of his eyes at the Well of Mimir to gain knowledge of all things Past, Present and Future. I'm curious as to whether the T-shirt slogan indicates that Christ was Odin reincarnated, or whether Odin made the 'greater' sacrifice for mankind overall?

Regardless, this feedback does not sway my opinion that it was Odin's son, Heimdal, who was Christ incarnate here on Earth; for the following reasons:

Just as the biblical Christ often stated that "my Father and I are one and the same," many scholars of Northern Mythology point out that Odin and Heimdal were often considered to be "one and the same." In this vein, I believe that Christ/Heimdal sacrificed himself as a Right of Passage by following the example of his All-Father Odin. The simple concept of such a Right of Passage states, in my mind, that by making such a sacrifice Christ/Heimdal gained access to Heaven and all other Realms where he was now 'worthy' to reign as prince and king alongside his All-Father Odin. And since this is exactly how things turned out, we can logically assume that such sacrifices are just what it takes.

Again, chalk up another major sacrifice on the part of Odin when he "gave his only begotten son" for the sake of all mankind. It is important to qualify the term "only begotten son" referring to the one and only begotten son of Odin in the earthly realm of Midgard (via the goddess Mary).

Ragnarok vs Revelations

There are far too many similarities between the Ragnarok in Northern Mythology and Armageddon in the book of Revelations to be ignored. The following list represents some of the similarities I found while reading the Gylfaginning in the book EDDA (pp 54-56). :

- Sun is 'swallowed' up; people are puzzled/confused
- Moon and stars leave the sky-- sky turns black
- Great serpent rises out of the sea
- Dead rise up from the grave, from Hell
- Earth and mountains shake and nothing left unturned and ground swallowed by the sea
- Fire rains down from heaven to scorch the Earth
- Christ/Heimdal sounds the TRUMPET to signal the Ragnarok
- Great Battle between good and evil-- in a designated place/location
- After the Great Battle, a New Earth is formed and rises out of the sea
- A New Heaven is formed: New sun and New stars
- Man lives alongside the gods in peace and harmony on Earth

For those who closely monitor the 'End of Days' predictions, the Gylfaginning actually specifies when the Ragnarok will begin. It states that there will be "three long winters with no summer in between." One might assume these three long winters would occur in Northern Europe (Sweden, Denmark, Germany) and Iceland. Of course, the terms 'winter' and 'summer' could be used in a metaphorical sense as well.

In my mind, when the book of Revelations was negotiated at the Council of Nicea, the Pagan-Heathens obviously demanded that their Ragnarok be fully represented here. And one can only assume the Judeo-Christians were simply ready to call it a day.

Jesus Christ and Heimdal

As I have previously drawn comparisons to Solomon in the Old Testament and Odin in Northern Mythology, I will now draw a similar comparison to Jesus Christ in the New Testament and Heimdal in Northern Mythology. Of course, I deviate far from the theological ‘norm’ in such comparisons, as I believe the gods in Northern Mythology are, in fact, real personas; and they have incarnated here on Earth to alter the course of mankind with each incarnation. With this in mind, let us brave the Judeo-Christian Comparative to Northern Mythology—in regards to Jesus Christ.

In Northern Mythology, Asgard is the highest realm in the 9 Realms of Yggdrasil. There are Twelve Palaces in Asgard—each associated with their respective god(s) and signs of the zodiac. Odin, the father of the gods, lives in Asgard in the palace of GLADSHEIM, also known as the “Shining-Home”. Heimdal, the son of Odin, also lives in Asgard and he resides in the palace of HIMMINBJORG, also known as “Heaven Hall”. Heimdal is the guardian of Bifrost Bridge (the entrance to Asgard) and he is most commonly referred to as the “Shining Ase” (inner light, funeral pyre). For this reason, Heimdal is often classified as a ‘solar’ god and he is clearly associated with the Dagaz rune and the Pagan festival known as Midsummer.

One interesting characteristic of highest realm Asgard is that it is ‘ruled’ by Odin and its corresponding rune is Gebo ‘X’. The significance of the Gebo rune is that it represents the action of give-and-take and a sacrifice is often required to gain access to this realm. Specifically, Gebo tells us that for every ‘gift’ there is a ‘price to pay’. In this vein, there is certainly a price one must pay to enter Asgard and Heimdal functions in this respect as a dweller on the threshold who has been given the authority to challenge anyone’s right of entry. Now, let’s break it all down more clearly:

I.
Heimdal is commonly referred to as the “Shining Ase” (inner light, funeral pyre) and many biblical scriptures reference Jesus Christ in the same vein:

John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

II.
Heimdal is the guardian of Bifrost Bridge (the entrance to Asgard) and he functions in this respect as a dweller on the threshold who has been given the authority to challenge anyone’s right of entry. Many biblical scriptures reference Jesus Christ in this same vein:

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Matthew 10:33 But whoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

1 Corinthians 14:38 But if you do not recognize this, you yourself will not be recognized.

III.
Heimdal is widely known as the “Ram” and his popular animal totem is the “ram”. Many biblical scriptures refer to Jesus Christ in this same vein:

Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.

Acts 8:32 This was the passage of Scripture he was reading: "Like a sheep he was led away to be slaughtered, and like a lamb is silent before its shearer, so he does not open his mouth.

IV.
The Gebo rune corresponds to Asgard and this rune refers to ‘giving’, ‘gifts’, and the ‘sacrifice’ involved in the process of give-and-take. Many biblical scriptures refer to Jesus Christ in this same vein:

John 3:6 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Luke 22:19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me."

Luke 22:20 And he took wine, gave thanks and drank from it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my blood given for you; do this in remembrance of me."

Note: Today, most Christian ministers preach zealously that Christ “paid the price” for our sins—the underlying message of both the Gebo rune and Christianity.

V.
There are Twelve Palaces in Asgard—each associated with their respective god(s) and signs of the zodiac. Odin, the father of the gods, lives in Asgard in the palace GLADSHEIM, also known as the “Shining-Home”. Odin’s palace GLADSHEIM contains Valhalla, the hall of the warriors slain in battle. Heimdal, the son of Odin, lives in Asgard and resides in the palace HIMMINBJORG, also known as “Heaven Hall”. Many biblical scriptures refer to Jesus Christ, his relationship to ‘the father’, and the physical organization of ‘heaven’ in this same vein:

John 3:13 "No one has gone up to heaven except the one who came down from heaven, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

John 14:12 In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.

** Because of the wording in the above scriptures, one could assume that Heimdal’s residence, HIMMINBJORG (or “Heaven Hall”) is positioned in close proximity to Odin’s palace GLADSHEIM. Hence, the biblical scripture which references Christ/Heimdal “seated at the right hand of the father in heaven”.

VI.
Apart from guard duty, HEIMDALL is the ever-watchful sentinel who waits with his horn to announce the end of the world. His horn is called Gjail or Gjallar. When RAGNAROK arrives, he'll blow the most amazing note and the last battle will commence. Many biblical scriptures refer to Jesus Christ in this same vein:

Matthew 24:31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

Revelation 1:10 On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,

The above comparisons and scriptural references are but a small representation of the many reasons why Jesus Christ is definitively the incarnation of Heimdal, the son of Odin. There are Twelve Palaces in Asgard and there were Twelve Apostles who followed Christ-- scripture clearly stated that Jesus promised to arrange a place for them in heaven.

Heimdal is known as a ‘solar’ god, and Jesus Christ is known as the ‘son of god’ and ‘son of man’. Many scholars have made direct correlations to the words ‘son’ and ‘sun’ used interchangeably in scripture. With regards to Jesus Christ and the term ‘Son of Man’, it is no coincidence that Heimdal is known as the god who established the ORDER of all mankind in Midgard (on Earth)-- the ORDER being Pauper, Prince or Warrior.

Heimdal is associated with the Dagaz rune which often symbolizes the end of one era and the beginning of a new era. In this same vein, Jesus Christ is closely associated with the ‘Judgement Day’ and the ‘End of Days’. Many other characteristics of the Dagaz rune fall within the iconic persona of Christ-- specifically, Christ's documented "third-eye" abilities to operate "between the worlds/realms" and transcend "above/beyond" them. Of course, Heimdal has this same ability to operate between the realms, and transcend them, while he guards the Rainbow Bridge between Midgard and Asgard.

On a final note, Heimdal is not the only god from Asgard who has a great impact on the events known as the ‘End of Days’ and ‘Judgment Day’. In Revelations, I believe many of the ‘angels’ that take notable action during this final hour are, in fact, gods from Asgard called upon to perform their specific tasks during the Ragnarok:

Revelations
6:1 I saw that the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying, as with a voice of thunder, "Come and see!"

6:2 And behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow. A crown was given to him, and he came forth conquering, and to conquer.

** Vidar from LANDVIDI: LANDDVIDI means “white land” or “broad land”; Vidar is the avenger of Odin’s death; the Silent One who only speaks after he has avenged the Lord of Speech, Odin.

6:3 When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come!"

6:4 Another came forth, a red horse. To him who sat on it was given power to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another. There was given to him a great sword.

** Thor from BILSKINIR: color red, Thurisaz rune, destructive fire

6:5 When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, "Come and see!" And behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a balance in his hand.

6:6 I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A choenix of wheat for a denarius, and three choenix of barley for a denarius! Don't damage the oil and the wine!"

** Forseti from GLITNIR: the god of justice, Libra (scales of balance)

6:7 When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see!"

6:8 And behold, a pale horse, and he who sat on it, his name was Death. Hades followed with him. Authority over one fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword, with famine, with death, and by the wild animals of the earth was given to him.

** Vali from VLASKJALF: from the “halls of silver” is the avenger of Baldur. He survives the Ragnarok and heralds the dawning of the “new age”. The scriptural text stating that “Hades followed him” correlates to “Loki followed him” since it is documented that Loki and Heimdal both die fighting each other towards the end of the Ragnarok, and Loki's daughter, Hella, rules the lower realm of Hell.

It is worth noting that the god Surt rules the middle realm of Muspelheim-- the world of creative and destructive fire. Surt is known as the "destroyer" at the Ragnarok. Ironically, access to the the realm of Muspelheim is controlled by the rune Dagaz. If Dagaz is known to represent a 'fusion' of contrasting energies to bring about rapid change, and the realm of Muspelheim houses the creative and destructive fire, then might this represent some kind of atomic reaction/explosion out of Muspelheim that occurs on or about the Ragnarok, or End of Days? And would not Surt the "destroyer" be the instigator in this explosion?

King Solomon and Odin (Ecclesiastes 3)

Ecclesiastes 3 (King Solomon, 620BC)

The Roman historian Cornelius Tacitus (58-120AD) records a Germanic tribal Runemal in some detail in Chapter 10 of his ethnographical work Germania from about 97AD when he was Consul to the region:

"To divination they pay much attention. Their method is a simple one: they cut a branch from a fruit-bearing tree and divide it into small pieces which they mark with certain distinctive signs and scatter at random onto a white cloth. Then the priest of the community (if it is done publicly) or the father of the family (if it is done privately) after invoking the gods and with eyes raised to heaven, picks up three pieces one at a time and interprets them in accordance with the signs previously marked on them."

Some modern experts allege that stones were commonly used for the Runemal, and the most popular passage in the Bible (recorded by The Byrds) most assuredly, in my humble opinion, reflects this well-known practice:

Ecclesiastes Chapter 3

1 There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens.
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant.
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to tear down, and a time to build.
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
5 A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather them; a time to embrace, and a time to be far from embraces.
6 A time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away.
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to be silent, and a time to speak.
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

The fact that the Roman historian Cornelius Tacitus uses the word "scatter" to describe the process of runic divination is a reflection of common terminology carried over from the Hebrew tradition to describe the actual practice of divination itself. In addition, just as Tacitus describes the process of scattering and gathering the runes in 97AD, this dual-action is clearly and explicitly described by King Solomon in the scattering and gathering of stones in Ecclesiastes 3.

King Solomon was a great poet, philosopher, diplomat and communicator known for his "unparalleled wisdom in all the land". It is described many times how he, himself, practiced divination by Dreams, Visions, and other intuitive practices to gain him the reputation of being a Prophet-king. Many historians have documented that King Solomon was even known to speak "the language of the animals and the birds". In this respect, I believe that it is no coincidence that King Solomon's most infamous biblical passage, Ecclesiastes 3, relates to the number 3.

To study the life of King Solomon is to observe the very persona of Odin, the triple-god, incarnate-- as King Solomon was the physical incarnation and embodiment of Odin himself. It is said that Solomon wrote Ecclesiastes when he was old, tired and approaching death (probably sometime around 920BC); hence, the 'tone' of the passage. I propose that the verses 1 thru 8 of Ecclesiastes 3 are a cryptic message from Solomon which reveals to the world the "source", albeit the “secret”, of his infinite wisdom, power and prosperity. It is his 'departing' gift to his people. As follows:

1) 8 lines representing the 8 runes within each of the 3 Aetts.
2) 8 lines describing the 8-fold Wheel of time; the passage of time
3) direct reference to the scattering and gathering of stones
4) 8 lines which describe the 'essence' of the Heathen/Pagan code; walk of life
5) 8 lines which describe the inversed/reversed aspects of the Runes themselves:

* I believe further analysis could reveal that Solomon was actually describing specific runes in lines 1 through 8 of Ecclesiastes 3. In fact, Solomon may have been detailing the 24 Futhark runes in his signature poetic fashion-- as only he could do.

** I believe lines 1 through 9 of Ecclesiastes 3 were authored by Solomon; while the remaining passages in Ecclesiastes 3 were undertaken and completed by an unknown author. This explains the Odinic 8 + 1 dynamic to complete the magical numeric sequence of 9 & 3... with 9 representing the 9 realms/worlds of Yggdrasil and 3 representing the triple-god Odin (Odin, Vili, Ve). With the understanding that the book of Ecclesiastes was penned by two separate authors, the constant debate among theologians as to "who wrote Ecclesiastes" can finally be explained.

*** As it is believed that Solomon could literally talk/speak to birds, this represents Solomon's Odinic-affiliation (hamingja, wyrd) with the ravens Hugin and Munin ('thought' and 'memory') which accompanied Odin at all times. In addition, I believe that it is no coincidence at all that the band/group that recorded lines 1 through 8 of Ecclesiastes 3 was none other than The Byrds. As a poet and songwriter himself, this is sound evidence (proof) that Odin and the runes continue to converse with the world in magical ways that we could never imagine possible.
